The educational effort to carry out the Department of Education’s mission and services is inclusive among schools and community partnerships. Hence, community convergence is indispensable to further strengthen schools in their foremost roles in the education of Filipino learners.

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has challenged DepEd not only in the education format and instructional deliveries but also in its effort to collectively enjoined parents and stakeholders to participate in the 2020 Brigada Eskwela and Oplan Balik Eskwela. The said pandemic has coined the term ‘new normal’ in DepEd and this has an impact to adapt to changes and shifts than the usual. This challenge has propelled opportunities for the department to reconfigure this school year’s activities including the annual kick-out activities and programs for the Brigada.

As part of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan in the time of COVID-19, 2020 Brigada Eskwela was undertaken from June 1, 202,0 to August 2020. Zamboanga del Norte National High School remained compliant with this mandate and thus exudedseveralf activities that were more into addressing the mandatory health standards and social issues at home, school, and the community. Throughout the Brigada and Oplan Balik Eskwela, ZNNHS made everyone optimistic, safe, and ready for the opening of classes for School Year 2020-2021 under the new normal.

Education must continue. It is as essential as time and it must not stop even if there’s a pandemic. This crisis cannot interrupt these time-tested principles of the educative process. In connection with this, ZNNHS has taken a leap of hope to parents and students as well as its stakeholders that education can take place despite the crisis.
